The Smart Agri-Systems Platform is a globally linked platform aiming to give members the latest information on research and innovation in the agri-food and bio-resource domains. Its Innovation and Knowledge Transfer Gateway provides a forum to enable stakeholders to interact with research and innovation groups from universities, research institutes, industry and public good organisations. Specific groups within the Platform include Soil & Water Management, Controlled Traffic Farming and Precision Farming, all of which are available to all members.
The Platform also provides a network of "outreach" programmes comprising workshops, seminars and bespoke training and education courses. Additionally, its Innovation Incubator enables industry and others with potential commercial proposals to put a research and innovation team together (from the range of Platform members), locate staff and facilities at the Incubator if appropriate, and develop a business plan for the exploitation of the technology.
